What A Day!

“By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he
should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing
whither he went. By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a
strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with
him of the same promise: For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose
builder and maker is God.” (Hebrews 11:8-10 KJV)

What a day that will be! When we
enter into everlasting life, no more burdens or sorrows to bear. Death will not
exist . . . no graves over there. No more tears in our eyes. What a day that
will be!

Why would anyone settle for “less”
when we can have God’s very best? Nothing compares to him and his promises!
Everything (all creation) bows and worships at the very sound of his name. Why
would we fear though the sea roars or the mountains tremble?

By stepping out in faith, like
Father Abraham, our future only gets brighter and brighter. Our inheritance is
a better place than any we have known or will know here. We have his promise: “
whosoever believes in him will not perish, but have
everlasting life” (John 3:16 KJV). What a promise!

While our circumstances on this earth may be tents
instead of castles, we have not inherited this place. Instead, we are looking
to inherit “a city of solid foundations whose builder and maker is God.”

What a day that will be when the archangel blows the “trumpet
of God.” And our Lord steps out on the clouds and shouts, “Come up here my
people!” What a day that will be when all over this globe graves and the sea
give up their dead. What a day that will be when, faster than a blink of the
eye, we are transformed from corruptible to incorruption and from mortal to
immortality!

Why would anyone want to miss such a day? I sure don’t.

Dear Father, thank you for the promise we have in Jesus
Christ. Empower us to remain faithful to the end. I pray this in the name of
Jesus. AMEN

Be strong and courageous
today considering our future,
