Wealth and Health

“In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.” (Ephesians 1:7-12 KJV)

An unknown author proclaims a great truth, “Christians do not need to consult their bank balances to see how wealthy they are.” There seems to be an inordinate affection for life without hardship and pain. Yet, how dull life would be without challenges, obstacles and troubles that provide opportunity to trust God.

Is it just possible that such desires and affections come from our carnality? God saw our helpless state of sin and carnality, and issued forth his eternal love, remission of sins and redemption from sin. All “according to the riches of his grace.”

“In him was life; and the life was the light of men” (John 1:4 KJV). No wealth or health without God’s grace. No wealth or health but “through his blood.” No wealth or health except the guilt and stain of sin is cleansed by his blood. No special blessings but those that flow from that stream of grace. Our “wealth and health” was purchased by God’s sacrifice at Calvary!

“And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.” Ephesians 2:6-7 (NIV)

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.” (Philippians 4:19-20 KJV)

Dear Father, thank you for the wealth and health we have through Christ. I pray that out of your glorious riches we will be strengthened with the power of the Holy Spirit. Empower us to be filled with the full nature and stature of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It is in his name and for his glory that I offer this pray. AMEN

Be courageous today in the wealth and health of Christ,
