Friday. Many people think it is the best day of the week. Most companies allow casual wear. Many people take a half-day off. Most of us find it very difficult to do business on Friday afternoons because the person we need to see “has already left for the day” or “they won’t be back in the office until Monday.”
Is it possible that our spiritual lives are like Friday afternoons? Are we rather casual about God’s word or do we receive it in reverence and anticipation? When the Holy Spirit nudges us, are we in a meeting or already gone for the day?
Dear Father, thank you for your grace and mercy. Help us examine our lives. Enable us hear all your words and faithfully live by them. In Jesus’ name. AMEN
