“There are many who say, “Who will show us some good? Lift up the light of your face upon us, O LORD!” You have put more joy in my heart than they have when their grain and wine abound. In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.” Psalm 4:6-8 (ESV)
Many of us recognize that every good and perfect gift comes from the Father of Lights . . . he who is above and above all! We are constantly asking him to shine the light of his glory upon us.
His joy in our hearts is more wonderful than the world’s concepts of prosperity and happiness. He provides a greater satisfaction than anything the world can imagine . . . his satisfaction has not even entered their hearts.
Each night, we who trust in the Savior lay our heads down to rest because we know that his will controls the universe, and our corner of it. He is our safety! He is our joy! He is our light! Glory to his holy name!
Dear Father, thank you for the light, joy, and safety you provide to your children. Give us grace before those we connect with today. Enable us to reflect your light, joy, and safety. This I pray in the name of Jesus. AMEN
Be encouraged today in the joy of God’s safety and light,
