“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV)
Fruit is a special treat that God created in the plant life of the earth. Not only a pleasure to the taste buds, fruit brings a joy and satisfaction to the body and spirit. Eating fruit enables the eater to relax emotionally. Something about the experience soothes the spirit and relaxes the mind and body. Just begin to think about your favorite fruit and how you enjoy it. Notice that your mouth is salivating in anticipation.
Now transfer that anticipation to the fruit of the Spirit. These fruit are more glorious than the physical ones. Think about it! The God who is love births love in us. The God of peace plants peace in us. The God who is kind makes us to be kind toward others. The only one in the universe who is good causes goodness to sprout in us. God who is faithful to us and has never been faithless sows faith in us and enables us to be loyal and dependable. Our Father who embodies gentleness gives us a gentle spirit. The All-Powerful One, who maintains self-control in the very face of enmity and disobedience, give us calmness and self-control in the Spirit. Thank God!!!! Praise his holy name!
Oh, how sweet these fruit are! Let’s share them with those who do not exhibit them.
Dear Father, thank you for your grace and mercy. Thank you for planting your fruit in us. Enable us to yield our lives to the Holy Spirit that he might ripen the fruit. May your fruit be seen in us. This I pray in Jesus’ name. AMEN
Let us praise God for the fruit of the Spirit and extend them to others,
