“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 (KJV)
As I sat at the computer this morning, waiting patiently (frustrated) while it slowly (like a snail) brought up my e-mail, I looked on the desk and saw a card that our church had given Sylvester and me. On the face of the card was written: “Thank you for making an eternal difference.” As I pondered this statement for a few minutes, another thought came to mind. I thought about how much I owe Christ for the eternal difference He has made in my life.
I have done nothing to deserve Christ’s love shown to me. I do not deserve His grace of salvation and eternal life. Oh, how He loves us! If we show gratitude and appreciation to those who have made a difference in our lives, and to those who have supported us through trying times; how much more should we appreciate God? He has rescued us from the traps of this life, lifted our spirits, encouraged our hearts, and brightened our day.
Today I want to thank Him for His love to me. I want Him to know that I am thankful for the eternal difference He has made in my life. There is a line in a song that goes like this: “What a difference you have made in my life.” He does indeed make a difference in my life! O what a difference! I do thank Him for that difference.
Dear God, thank you for the people you have brought into my life. Their love and care have made a difference when I needed it. They have helped me in my need. I thank you for the difference you make in my life. I thank you for the gift of salvation and eternal life. May I have the opportunity today to share this great gift with someone. I pray this in the name of Jesus. AMEN
Be encouraged today in the difference Christ makes in your life,
