“I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.” Psalm 40:1-3 (KJV)
Some of us woke up this morning with a song of praise to God. Others were grumpy for lack of sleep and rest. But no matter what our state of mind, we can change it . . . maybe not as easily as changing our clothing, but with some patience we can change it.
Begin thinking about this. Whatever our circumstances, our heavenly Father is bending in our direction. As a loving father, He hears and listens to our cries. He is intently interested in our deliverance from trouble and sorrow.
Remember, while we were still sinners Christ died for us. In the infinite regions of time and space, he heard our pleas for mercy. He looked down and saw us sinking in the miry clay of satan’s horrible pit. Lovingly, He reached way down and rescued us, picked us up, brought us out of that mess and washed us white as snow.
Can you hear those shouts of praise? Hear the “glory to God” rising up? Doesn’t it make your heart sing? Hallelujah!!! Think about the Lord and what He’s done for us! No more in the pit of clay! Now on a solid rock to stay! Now we know where we’re going! Now we have a praise chorus to sing and a testimony of victory. Hallelujah!!!
Dear Father, thank you for your delivering grace. Let our song of praise be loud enough to attract the attention of someone stuck in the miry clay so that they may look to you and be free. In the name of Jesus I pray. AMEN
Be encouraged today singing God’s praise,
