“And ye shall
seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. And I
will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and
I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven
you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused
you to be carried away captive.” (Jeremiah 29:13-14 KJV)
Sylvester and I had been in Hawaii for a few days and needed to go to Wal-Mart. we were told, “it is just right over there.” Well, I don’t know about your “right over there” but to me that indicates it would be easy to find. we drove around and around trying to find this easy-to0-find store. J After a lot of frustrating “round and round” driving, we found it.
would have been easier. It was two blocks down and on the corner, clearly
marked by it’s big sign. Meanwhile over at hard-to-find Wal-Mart, we were
checking out and Sylvester humorously told the cashier how difficult it was to
find them. She smiled and responded: “Yes we are a little out of the way,
but once you find us!!!!” Sometimes we are
just like that. We search and search and search and search . . . for something
that seems just out of our reach. Oh, so close yet so far away.
nephews and his wife was searching for a change of life. They were tired of the
way things were in their circumstances. The wife posted on face book: “I
do not know what to do! I have done all I can. I think we will start going to
church.” They did and accepted Christ as their Savior. They are being
baptized this Sunday (10/07/2012).
about how much their lives have changed, and how blessed they are. Our nephew
said, “I never want to go back to the way I was living.” He found
what he was searching for. Just as we
searched for Wal-Mart and found it, anyone can find Jesus.
Maui, Jesus is not hidden in an out-of-the-way-hard-to-get-to place. He knows
we are looking for him and makes it easy to find him. I am so glad that I can
find him in my time of need. Just as Wal-Mart
was there all the time (we just had to find it), Christ is there all the time
waiting for us to come looking.
you for taking care of us and for always being right there for us. Empower us
to seek for you with all our hearts. I pray this in the name of Jesus. AMEN
