Resolution of Courage (for Jan. 3, 2006)

“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
Joshua 1:9 (KJV)

2005 is gone. It can never be relived. It’s January 2006 . . . a New Year lies before us. Now is the time to store the memories and begin a campaign for the Lord.

For Joshua, and Abraham’s descendants, it was necessary to stop mourning Moses’ death and get on with possessing the Land of Promise. What they needed, strong courage . . . strong faith . . . strong commitment, is what we need in 2006 to achieve the Lord’s will in our lives.

We may claim the same promise, which the Lord gave Joshua. “For the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
Dear Father, thank you for your plan for us. Thank you for your confidence in us. Empower us to be courageous and faithful. When we are assailed by doubt, assure us of your presence. In Jesus’ name. AMEN

Let us praise God for his plan and live in courage,

Pastor Smith
