Relying On Jesus

“LORD, there is no one like you to help the powerless against the mighty. Help us, O LORD our God, for we rely on you, and in your name we have come against this vast army. O LORD, you are our God; do not let man prevail against you.” 2 Chronicles 14:11 (NIV)

Note the words of Elisha A. Hoffman’s Leaning on the Everlasting Arms, “Leaning on Jesus, leaning on Jesus, Safe and secure from all alarms; leaning on Jesus, leaning on Jesus, Leaning on the everlasting arms.”

Oh, the joy and peace of fellowship with Jesus! This fellowship is sweet and truly grows stronger each day. There is a deep, settled peace that comes from knowing we are safe. No matter what occurs, even if we walk through the valley of dangerous circumstances, our Lord and Savior is walking by our side. And then there is his security. Truly Jesus is my Shepherd. It is not just a scripture to repeat. I have committed myself to him and He has committed himself to me! He has promised to never leave me nor forsake me. I am secure in him . . . not my doing, but his.

Therefore, there is nothing to dread or fear. I have the peace that surpasses all human understanding, because my Lord and Savior is always near. I am relying on Jesus!

It is truly a great fellowship, full of joy and peace when we rely on our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and the guiding presence of the Holy Spirit.

Dear Father, thank you for your everlasting arms. Enable us to truly trust in the safety and security of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. In the name of Jesus I pray. AMEN

Be encouraged today as you rely on Jesus,
