Reconciled Ambassadors of Christ

“All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” (2Corinthians 5:18-1 NIV)

It is the most wonderful privilege that God has made us, loved us, saved us and given us hope. Hallelujah to his holy name! He “reconciled us unto himself through Christ.” Thank God for his reconciling grace!

It is also a marvelous honor that he has chosen us as his partners. His plan is that we would be his ambassadors who share our salvation and hope with others. To those sensitive souls who think they are not worthy to serve him, let us say that God does not exclude anyone who will reconcile to him. This is true no matter how flawed, how warped or how sinful one may be. Our worthiness is only through Christ and him alone.

It is Christ who “God made to be sin for us” even though Christ had not sinned. Yet, our sin was laid upon him “so that we might become the righteousness of God.”

Dear Father, thank you for the reconciliation we have through Christ. Empower us to truly be your ambassadors who implore others to be reconciled to you. I pray this in the name of Jesus. AMEN
