“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” (Hebrews 11:6 KJV)
Why do some people move through life so smoothly bursting through every obstacle and achieving every goal? Perhaps they have an encourager close to them . . . someone who believes in their potential and joyfully challenges them to go for the prize. Sombeody encouraged them to believe in the possibilities and reject so-called impossibles.
Read the following Scriptures and let your faith explode!
“For with God nothing shall be impossible!” (Luke 1:37 KJV)
“If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.” (Matt. 17:20 KJV)
“With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” (Matt. 19:26 KJV also Mk. 10:27)
“The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” (Luke 18:27 KJV)
Yes, these all must be correctly viewed from their individual contexts in order to interpret them accurately. Yet, I can’t help recognizing that each passage above is bursting with possibility. They do not point to limited humanity but to the One who knows no limits. Our faith will take us no farther than the one in whom we have faith.
Johann von Goethe said, “If I treat you as you appear to be, I will make you worse. But if I treat you as if you are what you have the potential to be, then I make you to be what you ought to be.” Think about Goethe’s wisdom carefully. Perhaps we should be careful about whom we let encourage us. Is our encourager challenge us to stretch to our potential . . . to what we ought to be?
Consider that you are a possibility. God knows your potential and treats you, not as you are but as He knows you can and ought to be. Yes, He looks at his children through the sacrifice of Christ and sees them as they will be . . . the full image of his Son.
In humble honesty, because of our exceptional God and Father — our exceptional Savior and Lord — we are exceptional individuals. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13). In every situation and circumstance, we are more than conquerors through Christ who loves us (Romans 8:37).
No matter what obstructs your life today, faith in the One who destroys obstacles will be rewarded with a conqueror’s victory. All things are possible with God and nothing can be impossible with him! So, every thing He has put in your heart to achieve, He knows that you can achieve it fully . . . and He gives you the faith and strength and energy to get it done!
Dear Father, thank you for giving us knowledge that you exist and enabling us to come through Christ to you in faith. We believe that you do reward our faith with victory over every obstacle that confronts us today. I affirm this today in the name of Jesus. AMEN
Be courageous today in pursuing your potential for God,
