“Now we pray to God that you do no wrong; not that we ourselves may appear approved, but that you may do what is right, even though we may appear unapproved.” 2 Corinthians 13:7 (NAU)
Consider this simple prayer, “Lord, when we are wrong, make us willing to change. And when we are right, make us easy to live with.” It exposes the two faces of pride. When I am wrong, pride makes it difficult for me to change. When I am right, pride creates an arrogant, irritating attitude that makes me difficult to live with. How I deal with the pride of life will determine how I deal with God.
Dear Father, thank you for mercy and grace. Forgive me for my prideful ways. Deliver me from the pride of life. Let goodness and mercy follow me all the days of my life so that I may dwell in your house forever. In Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN
Let us praise God for mercy and grace and live to his glory,
Pastor Smith
