Prepare For Christ’s Return

“Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning; And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately. Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.” (Luke 12:35-37 KJV)

The Atlantic hurricane season began yesterday. NOVA meteorologists predict that America may experience 13-24 hurricanes during this period. They believe that 3-7 of the predicted hurricanes will be major ones.

People across the Atlantic region will carefully prepare for the possibility of these dangerous storms. Some will make certain their property insurance covers hurricane damage and is paid in full. Others will install storm windows and other physical protections. Certainly most will take these predictive warnings seriously . . . just to survive.

Now, there is a promise of God that is more certain than the meteorological predictions — “if I go, I will come back” — but most people will ignore his promise with impunity. We cannot survive without him. Yet, no preparation to receive him; No change of lifestyle; No consideration of eternity.

Those who do prepare (i.e., believe in him and receive him as Savior and Lord) will rejoice for all eternity. And those who don’t will suffer his wrath for all eternity. I truly want to rejoice rather than suffer wrath, don’t you?

Dear Father, thank you for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ who died for us that we might live for all eternity. Strengthen our faith and fortitude to receive him when He returns. I pray this in the name of Jesus. AMEN

Be encouraged today in your preparations for his return,
