Dependence on Christ is the essential element of spiritual growth and perseverance. Jesus said, “abide in me, and I in you” (Jn. 15:4). Be honest with yourself. Can you survive without his strength?
The songwriter has it right, “I need thee, Oh, I need thee. Every hour I need thee.”
Because of the depth of his strength and power, we can draw upon it regularly and receive all we need. His well never runs dry!
Dear Father, thank your for your strength and power. Forgive us our failures. Grant to us the fortitude to persevere and grow in your strength and power. In Jesus’ name. AMEN
