What a prayer! Petitioning God to end wickedness and the violence of wicked persons is a request we should all be praying everyday. We need an end to wickedness and violence in the 21st century. Only the Righteous God can answer this prayer. O God, bring it about today!
When the righteous people of God are not safe in public, in private, or in Church; we need our God to bring about an end to the violence and the wicked causes behind it. It is for our security we pray such anguished prayers. O God, make your people safe and secure. Only the Righteous God can give us safety and security.
Of course, when the wickedness and violence end, we will all be secure and safe. Think about that. Safe and secure without violence or wickedness. What a day that will be! With the twenty-four elders, we will fall on our faces before the Righteous God who triumphs over violence and wickedness.
Our God is the Righteous God who searches the hearts and minds of every person . . . even those who neither believe He exists nor puts any faith in Him. They do not understand that He is keeping a record for the final judgment day when all will give an account for this life. Every eye will look on the Righteous God. Every knee will bow before the Righteous God. Every mouth will confess that the Righteous God is Lord.
Dear Father, we thank you for your mercy and grace. Be merciful unto your people and bring an end to the violence and wickedness in our world. This I pray in the name of Jesus. AMEN
