Loving Generosity

“. . . we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,. . . and we exult in hope of the glory of God.” Romans 5:1-2 (NAS)

Just think about it. The sacrifice made on Calvary justifies us and assures us of peace and hope. Both justification and assurance is ours by faith. They produce personal peace in this world and confident hope in the eternal glory of God. What a generous gift!

Consider the reason of our hope. God’s promise is an inexhaustible guarantee of loving generosity. In response, we give him our love with joy and zeal for his kingdom. As C. S. Lewis wrote, “Those who have done the most in this world are those who have thought the most about the next.”

Dear Father, thank you for justifying us through Jesus Christ. Thank you for our peace and hope. Empower us to live in joy and zeal for you. Strengthen our faith and grant to us the steadfast hope of your eternal glory. In Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN

Be encouraged today in God’s generosity,
