Joy and Peace

“Let the light of your face shine upon us, O LORD. You have filled my heart with greater joy than when their grain and new wine abound. I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.” (Psalm 4:6-8 NIV)

While others are confused and uncertain, the Lord’s smile rests upon his children. No matter what our circumstances, his smile warms and comforts us. On the top of the mountain or in the valley, his smile reminds us that we are his. In the darkest night of the soul, his smile cannot be extinguished!

The Lord fills our hearts with the greatest joy. It is isn’t the amount of joy that is great, but the quality of the joy. Joy in the morning. Joy at noon. Joy in the evening. O the joy that keeps our hearts in tune. The enemy my attack with trouble and despair, but the joy of the Lord is our strength!

The Lord gives peaceful sleep to those who trust in him. He is their safety net and refuge from the storms of this life. Peace when the storms rage. Peace when poverty is near. Peace when prosperity tempts us. Peace at all times and in all circumstances. Peace with the strength to face all things through Christ.

Dear Father, thank you for smile of joy and peace. Grant that we may dwell in the safety of your grace. This I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. AMEN

Be courageous today in the Joy of the Lord,
