In Synch With God

“O God, thou
art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh
longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; To see thy power
and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.” (Psalm 63:1-2
KJV)

The clock alarmed.
My eyes opened and I shut the alarm off.
Daylight was still a few hours off. Our house was still and quiet, a
gurgle sound reached my ears as the fragrance of fresh brewed coffee spread
through the house. The Lord had given me another day to serve him.

It was a scriptural
cliché that was always appropriate: this was a day the Lord had made and I was
going to be glad and rejoice in the blessings of this day. But the day must
first be attuned to God’s Spirit. My heart, spirit and mind must be brought in synch
with the Holy Spirit.

So I slipped out of
bed and knelt before the Lord. I was certain that I needed the guidance and
help of the Holy Spirit to begin the projects and ministries that awaited me in
this day. I  could not go forward without
the counsel and guidance that is available anytime, anywhere and all through
the day and night.

It is not surprising
that those who start their day communing with the Lord are better equipped to
face the day’s responsibilities. Talking and walking with the Lord, before the
day begins, always enables us to handle any difficulties and troubles that arise
during the day.

Even better news is
that our God never sleeps and always knows everything that is going on in our
lives. From his omniscient understanding, God knows what the day holds and
prepares us to receive it all for our good and his glory. He empowers us
achieve his will.

Dear Father, thank
you for your Spirit who guides us to achieve your will. Help us to begin every
day with you that we might be in synch with you throughout the day. This I pray
in the name of Jesus. AMEN

Be strong and
courageous today in synch with God,
