There is no better encouragement than the Word of God. It supplies us with hope. It increases the hope we have. It encourages us to firmly hold our hope.
From the NIV, the following passages are clarions of hope. Listen closely to their messages.
1 Chronicles 29:15 We are aliens and strangers in your sight, as were all our forefathers. Our days on earth are like a shadow, without hope.
Job 11:18 You will be secure, because there is hope; you will look about you and take your rest in safety.
Job 13:15 Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him; I will surely defend my ways to his face.
Psalm 25:3-5 No one whose hope is in you will ever be put to shame, but they will be put to shame who are treacherous without excuse. Show me your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.
Psalm 31:24 Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the LORD.
Matthew 12:21 In his name the nations will put their hope.”
Romans 5:2-5 And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.
Romans 12:12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
Dear Father, thank you for the hope we have in your promises. Encourage our lives in hope. Empower us with joy in the hope of Christ’s resurrection. Enable us to share our hope with others. This I pray in the name of Jesus. AMEN
Be encouraged today by the joy of hope,
