“To whom will you compare me? Or who is my equal?” says the Holy One. Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing. Why do you say, O Jacob, and complain, O Israel, “My way is hidden from the LORD; my cause is disregarded by my God”? Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:25-31 (NIV)
It is so easy to become discouraged and look around for another source of hope. Yet, when I look up, it becomes evident that the Creator controls every detail of the universe. Oh, how easy it is to complain that God has forgotten me or isn’t concerned about me. But it is time to remember and celebrate the Holy, Eternal Creator. His power and wisdom is beyond my comprehension. But this I know, he gives strength to weak and weary disciples. All around me others may give up and abandon their hope but mine is in God. While others are falling, I am getting stronger through renewal. I am flying higher in the Lord. My spiritual strength is increasing instead of diminishing. My resolve is stronger than ever and I refuse to give up and quit!
Dear Father, thank you for your wisdom and strength. I may not know everything but I know that I can trust you. Thank you for giving me your strength to go forward. Empower me, I pray, with even more determination and hope. In Jesus’ name, AMEN.
Let us praise God for our hope in Christ and live in faith,
Pastor Smith
