“And now, Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in Thee. (Psalm 39:7 NAS)
Well, it’s the last day of 2010. This year is fading into history and to some, it’s a sad time. Memories flood our thoughts — good times and not so good. We feel like flotsam on the sea of life. We may stumble through this day functioning mechanically. Year-end parties and fireworks displays notwithstanding, it may still be a misty-eyed day.
Getting together with family and friends is a great mood lifter. The many hellos and how’ve-you-beens along with plenty of hugs and kisses will serve to restore our hearts.
It has been a good year and we are grateful for its blessings. We appreciate all our friends and family across the world who’ve made a difference in our lives. 2010 has not been easy for any of us, but we have tenaciously gripped the Lord’s hand. We’ve experienced some trauma, a few disappointments, and many challenges. But let’s not dwell on the past. Let’s focus on the new year with the assurance and hope of Christ’s presence.
These are the thoughts I have today. It is the assurance and hope of a God-centered life. And I rejoice in him and his achievements on my behalf..
Dear Father, thank you for your grace and hope. Keep us all in your tender care. I pray this in the name of Jesus. AMEN
Be encouraged today in the hope the God gives,
