“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” (Colossians 3:16 KJV)
Here is a bit of apostolic advice. Permit “the word of Christ” to be alive in you in an enriching manner. The great Apostle assumes we know that we either open or close access to our hearts. If we do not allow it access, the word of Christ cannot live in us, cannot enrich our lives, and cannot affect the lives of others.
When we “let the word of Christ” have access, however, then the radical life of the resurrected Christ is created in us and we can teach and admonish one another “in all wisdom.”
In addition, we become an encourager. Our teaching and admonishing practices are full of grace because grace is in our hearts. And what we teach and admonish is to the glory of our Lord. Singing his praises with grace in our hearts!
Dear Father, thank you for your mercy and grace. Enable us to let the word of Christ truly be alive in us. This I pray in the name of Jesus. AMEN
Be encouraged today with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs,
