Good Counsel

“A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver. Like a gold ring or an ornament of gold is a wise reprover to a listening ear.” Proverbs 25:11-12 (ESV)

I thought about the wise man’s words and considered that some wisdom from a few unknown authors might be appropriate to pass on. I trust that you will meditate upon them carefully today and apply them appropriately in your life.

“However short, life is made even shorter by wasting time.”

“Life takes on new interest when we invest our lives in others.”

“The conversion of the soul is the miracle of a moment; the growth of a saint is the work of a lifetime.”

“Christians who are too severe in their criticisms of others are usually too lenient with themselves.”

“The gospel is not something only to go to church to hear, but to go from church to tell.”

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” — the Resurrected Christ (Act 1:8 ESV)

Dear Father, thank you for your counsel and the wisdom of your Word. Empower us to not only hear it but to practice it. This I pray in the name of Jesus. AMEN

Be courageous today and practice good counsel,
