Going For Help

“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.” Psalm 121 (KJV)

“Lift up your eyes. God wants to bless you in inconceivable ways
To make your life what you never dreamed it could be.”
-Anne Ortlund [Adapted]

It is important to know where we can find help. It is even more important to raise our eyes and look for it. Note the words of James in the New Testament: “What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? Can faith save him?
Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: show me thy faith without thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works” (James 1:14 & 17-18 KJV).

Dear Father, thank you for the help you provide in your grace and mercy. Inspire us to keep our eyes on you. Empower us to take action on our faith. Remind us that you are the one who protects us as we live our lives. With grateful hearts, we give you praise and glory. In Jesus’ name. AMEN

Let us praise God for his help and live for his glory,
