“Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”” Hebrews 13:5 (NIV)
Difficulty. Tragedy. Disaster. Circumstances. Situations. Things happen. We all face the difficulties of this life. None are immune. And the inconsistencies between the promises of Scripture and the realities of life leave us with many questions. What do I do? Does anyone truly understand my situation?
Some may think that having money is the solution. But the love of money simply makes one more uncomfortable and discontent. And the truth of most difficult situations, money will not solve the problem. So, what to do?
Our devotional Scripture above gives us the answer. Trust God for everything . . . what we need . . . for solutions to problems. . . for comfort and consolation . . . for answers. He has promised that despite the situation and circumstances, he will never leave us nor forsake us. And God is faithful.
Dear Father, thank you for your abiding presence. Empower us with faith and trust. Enliven our spirit that we may feel your nearness. This I pray in the name of Jesus. AMEN
