“Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee. Psalm 139:7-12 (KJV)
Swiss psychiatrist and founder of analytic psychology, Carl Jung wrote, “Bidden or not bidden, God is present.”
It is simply impossible to miss God. He is with us no matter where we go. Since he is with us it is easy for him to hear us, if we will talk with him. Here’s the idea. In those times when we suppose ourselves to be alone, remember that we are never alone because God is with us. “The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? 2 When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. 3 Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.” Psalm 27:1-3 (KJV)
Dear Father, thank you for your constant presence. Forgive me for failing to trust in you. Deliver me from my fear and increase my confidence in your guidance. In Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN
Let us praise God for his presence and live in confidence,
Pastor Smith
