“The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law.” Deuteronomy 29:29 (NIV)
What if we could understand the purpose behind everything that happens to us. If we could grasp the nuances of those unusual occurrences and events that are the ebb and flow of life, Paul’s theology of the unity of circumstance for our good would be clear (Romans 8:28). But in our 21st century life, it is futile to dwell on such an inquiry.
We need to dwell on those principles by which God guides us and obey those directions God gives and confirms. No one said this was easy. Sometimes it is frightening. Most of the time it depends upon our conscious ability to identify his voice in our lives.
We should not worry about “the secret things” that God has not revealed. We should be concerned with “the things revealed” because they are the foundations of our faith. He has given us a roadmap to follow that will direct us to his house.
Dear Father, thank you for the things revealed to us. Empower us to accept and follow your instructions. Enable us to be more sensitive to your voice. This I pray in the name of Jesus. AMEN
Be encouraged today as you follow God’s instructions,
