Enduring Truth

“So now the LORD says, “Stop right where you are! Look for the old, godly way, and walk in it. Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls.” Jeremiah 6:16 (NLT)

Skepticism has confused Christianity. The very foundational facts of Christian faith have been questioned. Did Jesus of Nazareth really live or is he a mythical figure? Is Jesus God or man? Could he really be both? Did he truly rise from the dead? Skeptics, though, would prefer to pursue skeptical questions rather than accept the evidence of truth. Such skeptical pursuits, however, breed further questions and skepticism. In search of some new and improved way.

Prophet Jeremiah, however, issues a relevant challenge. New paths are not possible. New paths are dead-end streets. Rather, the proper path is still the well-worn, ancient highway of truth. The ancient truth is proper because it still leads to God as it has always done.

Dear Father, thank you for the enduring truth, which saves me, protects me from error and preserves me in your kingdom. Forgive me for allowing contemporary skepticism to affect my own thinking. Enable me to bring all my questions to you for the answers. This I pray in Jesus’ name. AMEN

Let us praise God for his truth and live in everyday,

Pastor Smith
