“And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil” Matthew 6:13 (KJV)
An unknown author wrote, “When you flee from temptation, make sure you don’t leave a forwarding address.” This is an important issue for us as Christians. Fleeing from temptations is an important technique for every Christian. Indeed, we want to keep temptations at bay through humility, submission and determined vigilance.
In order to help us, the Apostles give us comfort and assurance. “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13 (KJV)
“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.” (James 4:7-8 KJV)
“The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations” 2 Peter 2:9 (KJV)
Isn’t it great to have the confidence of God’s help and protection in our temptations.
Dear Father, thank you for your grace of deliverance. Empower us with a submissive spirit and the resistance against the enemy’s temptations. In the name of Jesus. AMEN
Be courageous today in God’s deliverance grace,
