“I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life. And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.” 1 John 5:13-15 (ESV)
Believing in the Son of God. Have you ever thought what that truly means? Let’s consider it for a moment. It means the believer has eternal life. ETERNAL LIFE!
It means the believer can ask anything he/she desires according to the will of God and God listens. It also means that since he is listening, God is also answering our requests.
What confidence that gives! Knowing that you have eternal life; knowing that you can ask God anything; knowing that he hears your requests; knowing that he answers those requests.
Be confident in Christ today.
Dear Father, thank you for the confidence of your grace and mercy. Empower us to be confident in you today. This I pray in Jesus’ name. AMEN
