Christ Promised To Return

“He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming quickly.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus. (Rev 22:20 NAS)

The Bible, God’s Holy Word, is a book of hope from the first chapter to the last one. From that first creative act of calling light into existence until the personal promise above that he is coming back, God has continually expressed hope to us and for us.

Hope, a guaranteed expectation, which enables us to joyfully press forward is a supreme gift from our Lord and Savior. Even though Adam and Eve were deceived by the adversary, God promised that he would defeat him (Gen. 3:15). And in the first century when his people were persecuted, God promised that he would return in triumph. From Genesis 1 through Revelation 22, we have this steadfast hope that God is in control. He will triumph over our adversary. His victory is our victory, if we are faithful to the end.

Dear Father, thank you for the eternal hope you give. Empower us to embrace that expectation and live in hopeful joy today and everyday. In the name of Jesus I pray. AMEN

Be encouraged today by his promise to return,
