“. . . God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Colossians 1:27 (NRS)
Janice surveyed the surrounding area as she jogged. Loggers had left quite a mess. And those who had formerly enjoyed the woods no longer came here. All that was left were muddy ruts and rotting trash. This was another example of a warped world. How could anyone be so careless with God’s creation?
Janice realized the downward spiral of such thinking. She began to ask God for a brighter outlook. “Let me see your glory,” she prayed. Almost immediately, she became aware of the sunlight surrounding her. She felt its warmth. She noted how it glistened off the morning dew. Janice thought about how bright the sunlight was and the glorious nature of it. Then the still small voice flooded her soul, “it doesn’t compare to the glory of my Son.”
Soon her joy was overflowing. On her return trip, Janice forgot the devastation. She reveled in the glory of the mystery of Christ in her . . . her hope of glory.
Dear Father, thank you for Christ, our hope of glory. Grant that we may reflect his glory in our lives. In the name of Jesus. AMEN
Be encouraged today in Christ, the hope of glory,
