Choices

“Who is the man who fears the LORD? He will instruct him in the way he should choose. His soul will abide in prosperity, And his descendants will inherit the land.” (Psalm 25:12-13 NAS)

Choose what is right . . . Don’t you just wish that every decision would be the right one?
We make choices every day. Sometimes we choose without any conscious awareness.

Many of those decisions are benign . . . we could have decided another way and it wouldn’t make a huge difference in our lives. But some are extremely important to the focus of our lives. It is that level of choice that I want to influence.

A particular choice, with its inherent ramifications, is not what concerns me. The essential element of choosing is already present in me. So what is the issue? Will I choose wisely or foolishly? Is my life focus toward God and wisdom or toward fleshly, satanic foolishness?

Somewhere in the path of our lives, we decide by conscious thought or by default that we will live according to one of the two. We generally make life choices that are aligned with that decision.

If we have made foolish choices in the past, we can still change our minds, change our choices and choose wisely. That is the grace of repentance . . . changing our life choices from foolishness to wisdom.

Changing one’s mind (choices) is not the private sphere of women. Men can also choose what is right and good, even after bad choices.

We have choices today. Choose wisely. Choose well. Choose right.

Dear Father, thank you for instructing us to make wise choices. Enable us to always make choices that align with your eternal purpose. I pray this in the name of Jesus. AMEN

Be courageous today in your choices,
