“I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.” Psalm 40:1-3
Did you wake up this morning with a song of praise to God? No? Well, that can change as easily as changing your clothing. Begin thinking about this. While you were still a sinner, Christ died for you. The LORD extended himself toward you! In the infinite regions of time and space, he heard your cry for mercy. From his high and holy position in the universe, he looked down and saw you embedded in the miry clay of satan’s horrible pit. Lovingly, he reached way down and rescued you, picked you up, brought you out of that mess and cleaned you up. Just about now you should be shouting some glorys, some praise the lords, and Hallelujah!!! Because when we think about the Lord and what he’s done for us, it causes praise to run up and down the avenues of our soul and makes us want to shout, Hallelujah!!!
No more in the pit of clay! Now on a solid rock to stay! Now we know where we’re going! Now we have a praise chorus to sing and a testimony of victory. Hallelujah!!!
Dear Father, thank you for your love and kindness. Praise your Holy Name for picking us up from the mud, washing us off, and placing our feet on the rock to stay. We glorify you today. Empower us to light the world around us. Let our song of praise be loud enough to attract the attention of someone stuck in the miry clay so that they may look to you and be free. In Jesus’ name, I pray. AMEN
Let us sing it out today so that those around us may see what God has done, fear him, and trust in his grace,
Pastor Smith
