A Reflection of Christ

“For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” 2 Corinthians 4:5-6 (ESV)

Witnessing for Jesus is a like the light behind a church’s stained glass windows. The true beauty of the window cannot be seen without the sunlight shining through it.

The window only serve the light and the message it reflects. In fact, the window cannot even display the message without sunlight reflecting through it.

God has chosen to make known his glory by reflecting it in the face of Jesus Christ. He commanded light to shine in the darkness of our hearts so that the light of Christ, in us, would reflect that glory to the world.

Just like windows, which need the light in order to reflect their beauty, we need Christ Jesus to shine forth his glory through us that others might see his beauty. Those who look will not miss the message.

Dear Father, thank you for shining the glory of Christ in us. Empower us to reflect his light in our lives and ministries. I pray this in the name of Jesus. AMEN

Be courageous today as a reflection of Christ,
