A Joyful Heart

A young boy told his father proudly, “I know what the Bible stands for!” His father smiled and replied, “What do you mean, you ‘know’ what the Bible stands for?” The son replied, “I do know!” “Okay,” said his father. “What does the Bible stand for?” “That’s easy, Daddy.” the boy replied, “It stands for ‘Basic Information Before Leaving Earth.'”

A US Agriculture inspector told the farmer he had to inspect his farm. “Alright,” the farmer replied pointing to his nearest pasture, “but stay out of that pasture.” The inspector bristled at that, flashed his I.D. card, and claimed he could go anywhere he thought necessary. The farmer just shrugged and went to the barn. About 20 minutes later, he heard somebody screaming and looked up to see the inspector racing across that pasture with a bull chasing him. The farmer yelled, “Show him your card! Show him your card!”

Dear Father, we praise you and glorify your holy name. Thank you for the joy of your mercy and grace. Forgive us our negative, failures and fears. Give us joy in our hearts today so that sorrow doesn’t break our spirits. Give us the wisdom to know where to walk. Empower us to apply the B.I.B.L.E. to our own lives. Enable us with laughter so that we might pass the joy on to others. This I pray in Jesus’ name. AMEN

Let us praise God for the joy of the Lord and be strong in him,
