A Forgiving Spirit

“And when ye stand praying, forgive if ye have anything against any one, that your Father also who is in the heavens may forgive you your offences. But if *ye* do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in the heavens forgive your offences.” Mark 11:25-26 (DBY)

Life is an adventure. Today is a new day. It is perpetual new territory. We have never seen the events and scenery of today.

In this adventure, people will take advantage of us. We will also make mistakes. There will be sorrow and sadness but there will also be joy and gladness. Sometimes we will encounter storms and trouble, but we will also enjoy victory and peace.

Yes, life has its ups and downs. The practice of forgiveness is a key to a more enjoyable, enriching adventure. The pursuit of happiness may begin with a forgiving spirit. It is important to forgive others and ourselves. In this fast-paced adventure called life, I am learning that holding on to frustrations and irritants cause me more pain. The longer I hold onto them the worse they become. Forgiveness set me free to enjoy life!

Dear Father, thank you for your grace and mercy. Forgive us our trespasses and forgive those who trespass against us. In Jesus’ name. AMEN

Let us praise God for his forgiveness and maintain a forgiving spirit,
