A Closer Walk With God

“Teach me, O LORD, the way of thy statutes; and I shall keep it unto the end. Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart. Make me to go in the path of thy commandments; for therein do I delight. Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, and not to covetousness. Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity; and quicken thou me in thy way. Stablish thy word unto thy servant, who is devoted to thy fear. Turn away my reproach which I fear: for thy judgments are good. Behold, I have longed after thy precepts: quicken me in thy righteousness.” (Psalm 119:33-40 KJV)

O that the people of God would long after the precepts and righteousness of God! If we would only search after his statutes and obey them. Think of how the glory of the Lord would arise and abide in our churches.

If we could only realize the connections of the story and the see lights of his glory. What joy would fill our souls! What a revival would take place in our nation!

O that the people of God would obey the Word of God with a whole-heart spirit and attitude.! What a difference it would make in the church and the community. If we would turn away from fleshly lusts to the truths of God’s testimonies, then our families would be delivered and set free.

What difference would it make if we turned away from our vanities to the lively hope of the risen Christ? If Christ became more important to us than anything else? Would God turn away our reproach and barrenness? Would God do something spectacular in our midst? Would anyone be changed?

These are the secrets passed on to us by the Psalmist. To long after God and his precepts, this is life. To be revived, resuscitated in his righteousness, this is the power for turning the world upside down.

Dear Father, thank you for your grace and mercy. Inspire us to seek a greater experience in you, a deeper relationship with you. This I pray in the name of Jesus. AMEN
