“God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.” 1 Corinthians 1:9 (KJV)
What a marvelous blessing, to be called into the fellowship of our Lord, Jesus Christ. But even more marvelous is the fact that the faithful, eternal God of creation is the one who called us to the fellowship.
If we do pay particular attention, we will miss the significance of this fact. One writer wrote, “Our God writes with a pen that never blots. He speaks with a tongue that never slips. And he acts with a hand that never fails.” God is faithful!
His faithfulness is essential to us. If he fails in one iota of what his anointed prophets have written about him, then we would fall too. If he fails in one iota of what he has said in promise, then we are sunk. If he fails in one iota of his promised actions, then we may look for another God. Our God, however, is dependable. He is faithful!
Dear Father, thank you for your faithfulness to us. Forgive me for my wishy-washy, unfaithfulness. Enable me to walk steadfast and faithful to you everyday. I pray in Jesus’ name. AMEN
