“From there you will search again for the LORD your God. And if you search for him with all your heart and soul, you will find him.” Deuteronomy 4:29 (NLT)
Some people talk about finding God as if God could get lost. Of course, we all know that God is not and cannot get lost. He always knows where he is. Sometimes, however, because of disobedience, we discover that we are estranged from him. In real terms, we can’t seem to feel his presence. It is as though we are spiritually alone. In a very real sense, we have been dispersed out of his presence. It is in these times that God is leading us into circumstances, which cause us to focus on him again. It is “from there” that we begin to seek his face again and as we do, his promise, in the passage above, kicks in and relationship with him is restored.
Dear Father, thank you for grace and restorative peace. Forgive me for the times I have disobeyed and failed you. Deliver me from self-centered desires and goals. Help me to seek you everyday. In Jesus’ name, I pray. AMEN
Let us praise God for his merciful love and live in committed obedience,
Pastor Smith
