Emannuel’s Ground

The 18th century hymn writer, Isaac Watts, penned these words.
“Come, we that love the Lord,
And let our joys be known;
Join in a song with sweet accord,
And thus surround the throne.”

Think about how much you truly love the Lord. Today, right now, pull all of that love into sharp focus. Then eject it out in the words of your favorite worship song. A song in sweet unity with all others who love him too. Perhaps you only need to hum it. But in whatever way you express it, your joys will be known and you will be in the throne zone.

There is no greater encouragement than to live in his presence. Sometimes we just need to shake ourselves and remember that.

Let Watts’ words thrill you as you remember.
“Then let our songs abound
And ev’ry tear be dry;
We’re marching thru Emannuel’s ground
To fairer worlds on high.”

Dear Father, thank you for your love to us. Thank you for allowing us to know you and love you. Encourage us more and more as we, in spirit, surround your throne. Empower us with the joy that you give and help us to let it be seen in our everyday lives. In Jesus’ name. AMEN

Let us praise God for who he is and live in his presence,

Pastor Smith
