“Praise the LORD! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens! Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his excellent greatness! Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp! Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe! Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals! Let everything that has breath praise the LORD! Praise the LORD!” Psalm 150 (ESV)
Consider how glorious our heavenly God is! He reigns so high above the sky.
How could mere mortals presume to sing of his awesome majesty? None of us can adequately relate to his astounding power. We can’t begin to imagine the extent of his grace. Who can examine his secret will? Who can challenge him? The saints around his throne cannot do it. The people on this earth cannot do it. The angels who serve him cannot do it. We are all creatures who submit to the eternal laws of the Creator, the word of our God.
The residents of paradise all sing his praises. What will the inhabitants of the earth do? Let us join this holy refrain and bring our best to him. Our eternal God will not despise his children’s singing.
“My heart resolves, my tongues obeys; And angels will rejoice
To hear their mighty Maker’s praise Sound from a feeble voice.”
– Isaac Watts (1674-1748)
Dear Father, thank you for your awesome love and grace. Forgive me for failing to
give you praise and glory. Empower me to praise today and everyday. May my praises cause someone to discover your grace today. Use my praises to challenge someone to also praise you today. This I pray in Jesus’ name. AMEN
Let us praise God for his majesty and live to praise him,
Pastor Smith
