“I will praise you, O LORD, with all my heart; before the “gods” I will sing your praise. I will bow down toward your holy temple and will praise your name for your love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted above all things your name and your word. When I called, you answered me; you made me bold and stouthearted. May all the kings of the earth praise you, O LORD, when they hear the words of your mouth. May they sing of the ways of the LORD, for the glory of the LORD is great. Though the LORD is on high, he looks upon the lowly, but the proud he knows from afar. Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes, with your right hand you save me. The LORD will fulfill his purpose for me; your love, O LORD, endures forever– do not abandon the works of your hands.”
Psalm 138 (NIV)
How would it affect our lives, if we praised God wholeheartedly? How would it affect our family, friends, and community, if we praised him unashamedly?
Isn’t it true that he is worthy to be praised? Isn’t it true that he showers us with love? Isn’t it true that he is faithful to us? Isn’t it true that his Word provides guidance? Have we ever cried unto him and he failed to answer? When we approach his throne, doesn’t he rejuvenate our soul with his strength?
How could the kings of the earth not sing his praises and glorify him? When we consider his works carefully, how could anyone not humble down and praise him? It is mind-boggling that anyone would be so arrogant as to refuse to praise him.
We human beings have fallen into the middle of trouble and only God’s right hand can save us. The humble ones who trust in his salvation are protected us from the enemy’s anger. Hallelujah! God’s power saves us and the enemy’s raging cannot affect us! The Psalmist voices every believer’s prayer. Let us pray it together.
O God, complete your purpose for my life. Thank you for your enduring love. Do not give up on me. This I pray in Jesus’ name. AMEN
Let us praise God! Let his praises continually flow from us,
Pastor Smith
