“Say, therefore, to the sons of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you from their bondage. I will also redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments. Then I will take you for My people, and I will be your God; and you shall know that I am the LORD your God, who brought you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.” Exodus 6:6-7 (NASB)
It is difficult to have faith when we think we have been forgotten. It is safer to continue what we know than to try something unknown. Abraham’s descendants thought they had been forgotten. They thought it was safer to continue as slave brick-makers than to trust the God who had sent Moses to free them. But, they were the ones who had forgotten.
The God of Moses is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He is El-Shaddai, the Almighty God. However, they need a renewed shot of faith. And God sends it to them immediately. To their fathers, he had been known as the God who gave promises, but to Moses and those in bondage he would be known as the God who is faithful.
If Elohim (the Creator) can do all that he wills and El-Shaddai (the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob) can do all that he promises, then Jehovah Elohim will do all that he promised to its fullest extent. This is the message for those in bondage.
It is not God’s will and purpose for you to continue in bondage. You may not see the way of freedom. You may not think it possible. But God, who is faithful, has completed the way for you. Listen to his voice and follow his plan to freedom. He is the Truth, the Way, and the Life!
Dear Father, thank you for your faithfulness. Give us faith for freedom through Jesus Christ. This I pray in Jesus’ name. AMEN
Let us praise God for his plan and live to achieve his purpose,
