Relationship With the Father

“For a shepherd enters through the gate. The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep hear his voice and come to him. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. After he has gathered his own flock, he walks ahead of them, and they follow him because they recognize his voice. They won’t follow a stranger; they will run from him because they don’t recognize his voice.” John 10:2-5 (NLT)

Here is the essential relationship for each believer. We are the children of God! Each believer has a special place in the heart of God. We all belong to him. We are his and he is ours! We are the individual sheep of his pasture, the children of his inheritance.

What peace this assurance brings! In the night, we can sleep peacefully knowing that the bond between us is secure. All through the day, we are safe in the arms of our heavenly Father.

Dear Father, thank you for the peace of God that surpasses every fear and unknown. Empower us with the confidence that we are your children and you call us by name. In Jesus’ name, I pray. AMEN

Be encouraged today in the Good Shepherd,
