Strong Hope

“So be strong and take courage, all you who put your hope in the LORD!” Psalm 31:24 (NLT)

Sometimes our adversary shoots darts of distress at us. In those times, we may feel hopeless, alone, and afraid. We may even become paralyzed from deciding or acting.

Just when we get comfortable and begin to enjoy our blessings, God allows troubles and problems to confront us. Then our comfort dissolves into self-doubt and uncertainty. During these times, we enter the tunnel of endless possibilities, multiple considerations, and solid blank walls. We’re not sure what to do or where to turn.

The answer is simple but not necessarily easy to implement. The issue for us may be as simple as where we place our hope. The concrete truth, however, is that all those who put their hope in God through Jesus Christ can take courage in their circumstances. They can be strong in their faith. God will go with us and lead us! Relaxing and allowing him to guide us may be the difficult thing for us. The struggle then, is with me and you, not with our guide.

Dear Father, thank you for the hope we have through Jesus my Lord. Give us the strength to relinquish self-control and allow you to lead and guide us. Today, we affirm our hope and faith in you. Empower us with strength and courage. Enable us to be sensitive to your guidance. In the name of Jesus I pray. AMEN

Be encouraged today by a strong hope in God,
