Hope of Righteousness

“For through the Spirit, by faith, we ourselves eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith working through love. ” Galatians 5:5-6 (ESV)

Jon wandered across the street his thoughts racing. The speaker in that meeting had espoused concepts that boggled his mind. As Jon thought back over the last hour and the man’s words, he began to realize that much of those concepts were “old age” modern philosophies, which inferred that Calvary is not enough. Suddenly, his love for Christ flooded Jon’s heart and mind. He knew that Christ is enough.

Do not forget. Christ gave us liberty so we would be free. Additions to Calvary return us to slavery. Additions to Calvary diminish the advantage of Christ’s sacrifice. Additions to Calvary actually sever us from Calvary’s effects. Additions to Calvary are evidences that we are fallen from grace.

“By faith through the Spirit, we eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness.” Remember, the only thing that counts for our salvation is our faith in Christ Jesus and it works in love, both his and ours. We are not just believers. We are also those who hope.

Dear Father, thank you for the hope we have in Christ Jesus. Empower us with the fortitude to resist all the tricks of the enemy. Enable us with faith, hope, and love of Christ. In the name of Jesus I pray. AMEN

Be encouraged today in the righteousness of Christ,
