“The LORD is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation.” Psalm 118:14 (NAS)
Have you ever noticed how businesses always claim to have your best interests at heart, then when they get your money and you’ve got their product you are forgotten? Many will promise to be there for you and then after the sale promptly move on to the next in line. We just cannot depend on them. Of course, there are conscientious service departments that are dependable.
The songwriter asked, “where could I go, but to the Lord?” In this world of weak commitment, where does one turn for strength and consolation? Another songwriter answered, “When I need a shelter, when I need friend I go to the rock.”
The Lord is dependable. He provides strength for the journey, and a joyful tune to sing along the way. With the Psalmist, we can say: he is my salvation!
