“O LORD, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my every thought when far away. You chart the path ahead of me and tell me where to stop and rest. Every moment you know where I am. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, LORD. You both precede and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to know!” Psalm 139:1-6 (NLT)
How wonderful it is that God knows us in an unlimited way! He never abandons us and he always takes note of us. When we sit still or when we move about, he knows about it. When we think, consider our options and analyze all the issues, God takes notes. He is totally familiar with all our habits, desires and plans. And our words are clear to him, even before we speak them. He is the awesome God we serve!
Self would tempt us to hide from God but we can’t hide anything from him. It is possible to deceive the whole world, but we can not deceive him. Our lives are truly open books before him. The marvelous point is that despite his knowledge of us, God still loves us and gives us grace. What a merciful God we serve!
Dear Father, thank you for your mercy and grace. Thank you for your loving consideration of our personal needs. I entrust all that I am into your care. Keep me eternally safe, I pray this in the name of Jesus. AMEN
